Southampton Residence +
Blaze Makoid Architecture approached the design of this residence with a focus on modernist elegance, integrating refined architectural details throughout. The project aimed to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces while also complementing the scale, materials, and rhythms of the existing architecture in the most understated and efficient manner possible.
The property is nestled within a landscape framed by mature trees, with a new addition of London Plane trees adding to its natural charm. To connect various elements of the house with the surrounding environment, a gentle staircase crafted from earth and stone gracefully descends from the main structure to the pool area.
Moreover, the design includes a covered terrace at ground level, which directly links the main building and the poolside. This connection is elegantly achieved through simple yet durable stone walkways, enhancing the outdoor spaces’ functionality and aesthetic coherence.
The meticulous landscape design was conceived by Michael Derrig of Landscape Details, who meticulously planned every detail to ensure harmony between the architecture and the natural surroundings. The design execution was flawlessly carried out by Summer Hill Landscape, further enhancing the overall appeal and functionality of the property.
