The challenge presented was to introduce depth and complexity to a site that initially appeared flat and uniform in terrain. However, amidst this seemingly simple canvas, the potential lay in the expansive vistas and the majestic presence of ancient, towering trees gracing the landscape. Leveraging these natural elements, the design approach capitalized on enhancing the inherent grandeur of the space.

A thoughtful integration of hedges, diverse plantings, and meticulously crafted fieldstone retaining walls was implemented to achieve this. These elements served a practical purpose in structuring the property and played a crucial role in defining distinct zones for dining and swimming. Each area was carefully arranged to harmonize with the natural surroundings, creating inviting and functional spaces that seamlessly blended into the environment.

One of the design’s standout features is the incorporation of a grass staircase, which serves as a striking and graceful transition between different levels of the property. This elegant addition not only enhances accessibility but also contributes to the overall aesthetic appeal, adding a touch of refinement and sophistication to the outdoor setting.

The project was successfully completed in 2020, culminating in a landscape that not only meets practical needs but also celebrates the beauty of nature and the timeless allure of well-executed design.
