Carriage House, East Hampton  +

The task involved redesigning a sprawling landscape spanning over two-and-a-half acres, requiring a thoughtful blend of techniques and aesthetic harmonies. Central to the project’s vision was aligned with the scale and formality of the main house, ensuring both symbolic resonance and practical functionality. Key elements included the creation of a formal motor court adorned with a port cochere strategically integrated alongside a service parking area, seamlessly blending with the expansive grounds through carefully staggered plantings.

Introducing a Gunite pool with bluestone coping and terrace became a focal point, offering a luxurious retreat within the landscape. Additionally, a cutting garden was meticulously designed to provide a serene and distinctive sanctuary amidst the structured layout of the wider estate. Towards the rear of the property, a woodland garden was cultivated to serve as a natural buffer and offer yet another secluded space conducive to reflection and tranquility.

In essence, the landscape architecture project not only met the practical needs of the site but also enriched it with varied, purposeful spaces that harmonized with the grandeur and formality of the main residence.
